GOURMET LOVERS BRUNCH CLUB: 04.12.11 CHRISTMAS BRUNCH

Sunday 4th December saw a team of Merry Brunch clubbers arrive for our last brunch of 2011. This weeks theme was a festive Christmas one. We decorated our cute little tree and pulled out the Christmas napkins. The menu was inspired by our memories and the flavours of Christmas, lots of fruit, spices and booze!

Two of our standouts from last brunch were revisited, the poached rose infused quince and the pork, cranberry and chestnut sausage rolls. Nick also made a delicious nut roast and stuffed it a portobellini mushroom.

It wouldn't be Christmas for us without ham, we honey roasted this one and served it with good chedder cheese and my home made pickle.

The star of the show was undoubtably the Christmas Pudding Ice cream. All the flavours of Christmas, a medley of spices plus ginger nut biscuits and boozy fruits. But not too boozy, thats often what puts people off Christmas pudding in my opinion. It was perfect. (Don't worry the recipe will be going up shortly!)

We have a couple of private Christmas Supper clubs this month and then will take a break and return with Brunch club on Sunday 22nd January. Email us for spots gourmetloversblog@gmail.com
And if you'd like a brunch pop up in your house let us know!

ALSO non brunch related but this Saturday at the sweet new coffee shop Reilly Rocket in Dalston they're having a one day only pop up clothing shop featuring emerging London designers.  We are supplying all the delicious cakes, cupcakes and savouries. The pork, chestnut and cranberry sausage roll will feature as well as some other tasty treats. Get down there and get a fantastic coffee at the same time!

Happy Christmas
Bex & Nick
