GOURMET LOVERS BRUNCH CLUB : ASIAN FUSION BRUNCH

The good times at brunch club just keep on truckin. With a special guest chef and an asian fusion menu, in the words of one happy bruncher we are 'elevating brunch' to new heights.

Our amuse bouche plates this week were really fun to put together. We playfully meshed asian styles and dishes with western flavours and fillings and vice versa. Our good friend and guest chef Mel had dreamed up a wonderful version of an asian classic - a brunch themed gyoza dumpling - which was just stunning and the crowd favourite. Just might pop up again at future brunches. The amuse bouche were:

Bacon, mushroom and emmental cheese gyoza with light hollandaise paired with shot of plum wine

Papaya and avocado spoons with chilli lime dressing paired with shot of coconut water

Sushi crepe roll with matcha green tea chocolate mouse and macerated strawberry paired with shot of Jasmine and green tea

We had just as much fun with our mains:

Mel's sweet potato katsu hash brown, grilled marinated chicken and crunchy salad with miso mustard dressing

Grilled chilli and honey sausage with sweet chilli glaze, shitake mushrooms with deconstructed ginger fried rice tipped with fried egg, crispy garlic and ginger

Mango and coconut galette with matcha green tea panna cotta and double cream

And our old classic with a twitst: Corn fritters with crispy bacon, oven dried tomatoes and sweet chilli sauce

And for sweet treats Bex whipped up some lovely Green Tea cupcakes.

We'll be posting recipies for all of this lovely stuff over the next week or so. Oh and watch out for a video we've been editing together from our September brunch.

If you like what you see we have places left for our Christmas supper club on the 11th December. We have a jam packed November so this will be the last brunch till the New year. For Christmas booking please email us at gourmetloversblog (at) gmail.com

I never thought I'd see 'Asian Fusion Brunch Club' in the same sentence... but now I'm very envious!
