CANDY CAKES : AMAZING MUFFINS & CAKES IN MONMOUTH ST
So Bex and I were in Soho,West London one evening last week for a friend's birthday dinner. We rode our bikes across to the seven dials district, specifically Monmouth Street and we came across a cute cake and muffin shop called Candy Cakes. *
The beguiling window display called us over and never ones to turn down a food p*rn photo opportunity we bought a birthday muffin in a gift box for our friend. We never actually got to eat it but on their presentation alone they are worthy of an admiring post.
Even Bex who is probably Hummingbird Bakery's number one Über-fan and will never cheat with another bakery acknowledged they got some mojo in the cake decorating department. Although I do think Hummingbird have a more natural and ultimately more appealing presentation style. This one felt a touch artificial - think it was the icing they used which was very thick, solid, shiny with bold colours.
That being said they can customise cakes for you and had a wide array of interesting flavours and had lots of interesting and cute candy figurines adorning most of their cakes and muffins. If you're in West London definitely worth a look-sie.
They have four stores across West London and also do phone / internet orders and can send you a box via DHL.
* NB: We aren't affiliated or realted to anyone at Candy Cakes :) Just like the cut of their jib.
